| We all love to hear good news--a child doing well on a
test, a friend getting a promotion or a family member overcoming a serious illness. The greatest news of all, however, transcends all of these. This good news is that God loves you and has sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for you and to rise again so that, through Him, you can have eternal life. |
The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift of God received by grace through faith. It is of utmost importance that we remember that no one is saved and going to
heaven because of works. Being a good person, being a member of a church, participating in religious exercises, attending church services, giving
money or being baptized does not take away our sins and make us Christians. Though all these things are good, only the blood of Jesus can wash away our sins.
If you confess your sins to God, trust in
Jesus'
sacrificial death on the cross for forgiveness, and ask Jesus to come into your heart, God will forgive you and you will become a new person. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
If you have not asked Jesus to forgive your sins and come into your heart, will you do that now? If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the pastor or church office. |
